Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager – Bremerton, WA
Spees Design Build (SDB) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager to join our team in Bremerton, WA. In this position, you will perform AEC design work under the supervision of licensed professional engineers.
You will design and draft building mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) for various commercial and federal projects. Your typical day will include building system modeling, design calculations, building code, industry standards review, and coordination with an interdisciplinary team. You will join a mechanical team aiming to exceed client design expectations while delivering projects on time.
SDB is a design-build firm that specializes in providing architecture, engineering, and project management consulting services. We work in teams, tackle exciting projects, and enjoy a stimulating and collegial environment. We are a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with offices in the Pacific Northwest and the Southeast.
You will be part of the dynamic architectural and engineering (A/E) design team within SDB’s Design-Bid-Build operations. This team is primarily involved in designing various project types within the Veterans Affairs Medical Center systems throughout the United States.
Job Qualifications
- You have 10 - 20 years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- You have experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams
- You are an expert with Revit and AutoCAD
- You are proficient with HVAC load calculation software
- You are extremely familiar with state and federal codes and industry standards
- You have a Mechanical Engineering degree
- We prefer you have experience working on federal projects
- We prefer you are a licensed professional engineer
- We prefer you have experience leading mechanical design projects
You will perform mechanical design and project management tasks, including:
- Project management of various mechanical design projects
- HVAC load calculations
- Verifying compliance with building codes, energy codes, and various standards
- Design calculations
- Space planning and equipment layouts
- Designing ductwork and piping systems
- Specification editing and review
- You will visit project sites to gather design information and document existing conditions
- You must be thorough and focused on design details
- You must be comfortable with and proficient at communication with the internal design team and the client
- You have a willingness to assist with any required tasks
- Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
- Able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Occasional travel to various project sites for field investigation and construction inspection (20%).
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
The pay range is from $120k to $170k DOE.
